Noise in a condominium: what to do

Often the noises of a condominium are annoying and disturb the tranquility and relaxation of the neighbors and often in one's own home one mutters and gets angry not knowing that there are ways of legal protection which provide that life in a condominium should not be disturbed. What are the laws foreseen?

First of all, it is important to point out that to be defined as a nuisance, noises must affect the tranquility of a group of people, have a certain intensity and undermine the quality of life of the condominium or of several condominiums.

According to the condominium regulations, the times in which it is possible to make noise and those in which it is necessary and necessary to respect silence are set and usually the most annoying noises are allowed from 8am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9pm in the evening. . Outside these hours, loud noises must be avoided, as this could also lead to complaints.

In cases of excessive nuisance and noise, you can turn to the condominium assembly or even, in fact, appeal to the law, a long and burdensome process to reach a resolution to the dispute. Better, therefore, to start by contacting the condominium administrator and requesting an extraordinary condominium meeting where the problem should be put on the agenda.

This is perhaps the best way to seek a conciliatory solution without compromising relations between neighbors. However, in the event that this path does not prove exhaustive and efficient, then the current rules also provide for the possibility of resorting to the law
